Post 86 gn with 70k miles, times??

Hello all, I`m new here and thinking about purchasing an 86 gn with roughly 70 thousand miles, I have been thinking about buying a gn because there is a small drag track where I live and and there is no Gn running so I thought it would be cool to have something diff, my question is what would people guess 86 with those miles would do stock in the quarter, and also would just a chip make one go alot faster. I don`t want to do alot of mods so.. would anyone recomend a gn for racing for fun...sorry if this may be in the wrong forum...thanks

Great cars and made to go fast with little MODS and not to much money.
After I did the spring cleaning from www.gnttype.org, my 130,000 mile car ran 14 flat @ 99mph, same as they did stock in 86. Car needs the G80 option to have a posi.
You will need to up grade fuel pump, get a scan tool ,and do the spring cleaning before racing. My first goals were to be as fast as a stock T/A, SS, which I reached with a high 12. Now I want to run as fast as a Viper.

14's

Takes sticky tires, good intake (cool air), good exhaust, good chip, good gas or alky injection, plus boost to get it to the 12s.

I think one should worry more when people are lining up to get out of a country rather than into it.

If they're sneaking in, we must be doing something right.
