your description makes it sound like the car is not getting fuel.

What is your fuel pressure when you turn the key on? Can you hear the pump run for a couple of seconds when you first turn the key to the run position? Have you checked the fp fuse, etc, etc>>>>>>>>>>

I heared the fuel pump....I was thinking its not getting enough fuel is there any way anything could be clogging the fuel from the injectors....Hmm Maybe the fuel filter is clogged....Anyhting else that could have clogged....I know it wouldnt be the injectors because there is 6 of em...So nothing could clog em all...What is the round metal tube that sits behind the powersteering pump...What is that I see the fuel pump go to that then out.....I am pretty sure it is a fuel starvation prob....

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? If not that would be the first thing to buy & check & Auto Zone rents them"But you really need to own one for tuning purposes"Sounds like your pretty new at this?Jus because you here it does'nt ness. mean its pumping fuel"Have you ever replaced the fuel filter?

I just got the car so it is way new to me I admit, None of my cars ever had anything in common with this car other than suspension...I have a 78 malibu with same suspension......It has a underhood vdo gauge......When it was running good earlier it had 28-30 psi...No I didnt replace the filter I seen it tho I believe...It was the little round shaped thing with bosch on the side it looked new it is close to the fuel rail....

Im not real familure with the 84-85 cars but i think your looking at the FP regulator. The fuel filter is under the car on driver side in the rear wheel area.

On the 84-85 cars fuel filter is BEHIND/BETWEEN the power steering pump.
86-87 on the driver's frame rail.

Then we are talking about the fuel filter! Sorry! *s*

But did you say it had clear plastic lines running to it?

Exclamation

As to the thing above the A/C:

If it's a long cylindrical looking deal about 8 or 10 inches long, made of plastic, with clear (more white than clear) hard lines going to it, attached with two screws on the passenger side of the engine compartment, above the A/C, it is called a vacuum tank. It's part of the HVAC/cruise control crap, I believe, although I could be wrong. Mines broken as well. I leaned on it and SNAP!
