question about chip

I took the ECM out of the car to get the chip out. Battery disconnected and orange power wire was unplugged.

I got the info I need from the chip and promptly put it pack into the ecm, and ecm back into the car.

Do I need some special restart process now, or since it is the same chip that was in there am I OK?

Thanks
JP

What brand chip? If it is stock, or does not have a security feature you will be able to just resart the car. If it has a security feature it won't start and you need to find out the start sequence.

if it cranks up, then there is no security feature, and normal driving is all that is required.

Just a note, you don't have to remove the ecm from the car to remove the chip,it comes right out with hardly any effort.

The less you tamper with in regards to wiring and plug connectors on these cars the better off you will be in the long run. They are 19 - 20 years old after all.
