Unlike other sensors, it does not appear to get its 5 volt supply from the ecm. Rather, it seems to take 12 volts in from the battery to the tach/boost module and outputs 5 volts to the map sensor for reference. Therefore, I would guess it has a voltage regulator transistor that is supposed to maintain some semblance of consistency on the output. I would guess it is fading. As John Spina repairs these units, you might give him a call tomorrow and ask him if that is the way it works. Not sure you can use the tps reference voltage supply or not as that might overload the ecm??
