| So hooker headers really Are garbage??? Im going to get my car back soon, and i hear input from a lot of people, hooker headers are garbage etc. etc. im trying to keep my Car a maintenance free car, i know some crap will go, but for the most part...i dont want problems. it will be a daily driver. i have hooker headers given to me for free and installed. my stock manifolds were cracked. and even re-welded they crack in diff spots etc...so if these hooker headers are prone to cracking...either way ill be dealing with a problem....they are brand new headers either way. So i figured id keep them until i saved enough money for ATR headers...which are suppossed to be excellent! ATR headers fit to which downpipe? b.c i have the hooker dual exhaust setup...and i had to have a custom downpipe made to fit b.c it was a nightmare to get on the hooker...i tried cotton performance downpipe and a kirban performance downpipe...not bashing either company...i was just told my cars setup was just not allowing these things to bolt on right. maybe from my turbo...wasnt reaching the bend etc...i dont know what the deal is...but now its finally hooked up with a custom one which is good...i jsut hope when i go to ATR...its not the same nightmare.

| The key with the manifold cracking between cyls 3 and 5 is to weld a gusset (support) between the two ports. If you don't the manifold will crack right beside your weld. I think I have heard mixed opinions about every brand of header out there. ![]() |

| Resident Idiot | Sell the Hooker headers for whatever you can on eBay and buy some nice stock headers. The Hooker headers have larger primary tubes and too much volume in the crossover design and will do nothing more that make the car spool slow and be low on horsepower.
