Brought the GN to the track last night...

Only change was a TE-45a turbo. That thing is huge!

I quickly learned the 50# injectors were too small in combinaiton with this turbo. . The injector duty cycle about 50 feet off the line was 108% and the car kept popping at a few points in the run.

The boost last night was 20psi, anything more and it would just pop. The car went almost the same exact MPH when I ran the TA-49 at 25.5psi.

No spectacular ET's to report as I was on and off the throttle when the popping was occuring. It did go 11.80 something @ 117.69mph.

I guess I really need some larger injectors afterall.

Another thing I noticed was the MAF was maxing out at 255gps on the lauch and once when I accidently twisted the bleeder valve a little too quickly! I only have a 30psi gauge so I am not sure how high it actually went, but it buried the gauge for a split second . I may need the Extreme chip which will triple the resolution since mine is only doubled.

Wasn't the best night at the track but any night driving the car home is a good night.

Every since I bought him the kitty litter and broom, he keeps muttering about "must go 9s"...I don't know what the deal is.

Mike,

What timing are you running?

And can I suggest some 83lb/hr injectors and some 3.08 gears?

You have me wondering how much quicker my car would be with a MAF-T setup.

What stall Orlando....?

I've been thinking Te67 and 83's - w/ Extender Extreme. I'm pretty sure my convertor will go 3000ish without boost - and I've seen 3400+ on boost with my TA49.

The converter is a 2800 stall D5. The timing is the stock timing in the extender chip. 23º in low gear, 21º in high gear. The lag is minimal but the motor is 10% larger which I am sure helps with the spool.

Interesting... I ran a peak of 26º/23º last season on propane @ 23psi.

Makes me think I have a lot of room to grow.

No $hit - how did it 60' ?

Did you turn on launch assist, tweak spool up fuel, or low gear fuel?

hmm...I may have to step up.

I haven't changed any of the settings in the chip except for turning ON open loop idle and lean cruise.

The 60 foots were in the 1.7x's. Not bad but the car usually gets 1.60's with better track prep.

Do I need to come down there and turn lauch assist on for you? It makes a huge difference

Were you leaving on the T-brake?

Sounds good Mike - I want a bigger turbo now

I don't have a T-brake in this one. It's just a poor stock transmission with a shift kit. I was leaving the line just coming out of vacuum. It has no spool up problems at all.

What heads do you have on your GN? Your sig says "stockish heads," does that mean mild port work on stock heads? Was the old MIS RED running aluminum Champion GN-1's? I thought I remembered reading that somewhere. It was a budget 4.1 build-up as well right?

The motor in the GN has stock heads with some very mild bowl work. The intake and runners in the heads are untouched. The valves are also stock.

The heads that were in the MisRed car were Champion Iron heads and are now in this car along with the rest of that motor:

Great thanks. Weight of the two different cars aside, do the Champions make a night and day difference on the budget 4.1 buildup?

Huge difference. Probably 60+ horsepower with the matching intake.
