Question

Are they Kirbans? Kenne-Bells? Homemade?

Usually the largest bolt that fits cleanly through the holes will work fine, probably 5/16" stainless would work well, 3/4" to 1" length most likely.

IIRC you need to jack the car up (at the frame) when you install them... it unloads the chassis. And everything will tighten up when it is dropped down again.

Do you have to drill the holes or are they already there? if they need to be drilled, is there an exact spot to drill in, or wherever they fit together on my car???

Did you buy those? It looks like I could just make those out of some conduit or something

Real easy.. Find hardware (nuts and botls) that fit the holes in the braces you have. Look at the above few pics to get an idea on how long they need to be... Then get in the car and pop out the lower part of the back seat. Then you'll need a hex or star socket the size for seat belt bolts. There are 2 of them in each corner under the top half of the back seat. Remove them. Take out upper part of back seat ( check behind back of back seat for broadcast sheet! If found carefully take it out and have it laminated ) Then there is the big heavy matt that will pop out if your careful with it. Now everything is exposed look at the above pics again eyeball up your hole drill from the inside out and bolt em up. Takes a little time but a no brainer. Good luck!

As Mike stated...the frame should be supported by four jack stands and should be in a parallel frame to a level floor.

If these are a commercial kit, there should be two holes in one of the bar ends as per Grumpy's picture (top center). This is important as it stops any potential scissoring.

The holes should be drilled such that the bolts are a snug fit with no wobble. Locking washers and threadlocker should be used and they should be tightened securely.

Push in at the lower edges of the back seat at the floor and lift up to remove the bottom half of the seat. Remove the two bolts at the bottom that hold the upper half in place and lift up on the seat to unclip it at the top.

Red face

This maybe a stupid question, but what if you don't jack up the car and install it anyway? Seems like it would still stiffen up the car.

Many don't want to go to the bother...it still stiffens up the car, but, it may have the frame tweaked which can diminish the over all handling of the car as the weight distribution is changed a bit.

Is there an exact placement for the braces?? i got them in and the ones that bolt together at the top are exactly as the pic showed, but i put the lower ones in a little higher from the bottom than the pis shows. i still notice a difference in the car, but should this be corrected or is it ok?
