| I would use an electric one unless you are building a race car. I ran mine side by side with an mechanical one and the difference was 3lbs at most. Who cares if you reading at cruise is 50 or 53 or 20 or 23 at idle. as long as your pressure is in range it's fine. If you do go mechanical make the run as simple and short as possible. Make a hole in the firewall(and grommet) and mount on the console or above the glove box. Keep the idiot light too. Most don't know they lost pressure until it knocks or locks up eek!

| You probably need a 2" space for the radius of the copper tube bend for the oil pressure gauge behind the body of the gauge itself. You got that much room in the pod? If not electrical might be a better choice or a tighter radius on the hose can be done in a pinch, no pun intended. wink

| I put my fitting on top of the turbo. I don't like to have to bend over a lot looking for the oil leaks. wink

| Call and check your numbers again. Maybe they looked up a speedometer by mistake. The books show $59.99

| That's an Ultra Lite, correct? Most electric gauges have a 90 degree sweep on them, but some have a special full sweep on them, and the price goes through the roof. This may be the gauge they carry. Go on the AutoMeter website and look for a part # yourself. Then call Summit or Jegs or whatever.

| ok i just ordered an oil pressure gauge from jegs It was only 59.00 electric .I also ordered an mallory 100# fuel pressure isolator so,i can hopefully mount my 2 5/8 fuel pressure gauge inside under my boost gauge on my duall a pillar gauge holder.Has anyone of you ever used an isolator for the fuel pressure gauge .The jegs guy said that it uses like antifreeze instead of fuel for the line going from the isolator to the gauge in the ****pit. What do you think, will it work/? |

| Fuel pressure isolators work fine. Just big mechanical gauges are tough to mount on the A pillar.
