turbo v6 streetability?

I was wondering ust how streetable a turbo v6 would be on the street? Also is it possible if I have a anual trans, would it be able to work on the engine? I know people have said its not a good idea, but I was wondering why?

Keep your eyes open there is a elky with a 86/87 swap by you its gold w/ black stripes. There are lots of other turbo buicks in Newcastle County and a jersey car that comes over to play. The cars are very streetable I drive mine 365 days a year. As for the trans build the 2004r its one less thing to mess with.

Manual trans= bad idea for the simple fact that each time you shift the motor falls off boost...add that up 4 times (shifts) and you loose alot of performance.first gear would be mostly useless as it would be over too fast, then fall off boost and into second and so forth..... turbos themselves, need a load to work well. look at your fasted drag cars they are all automatics. If your wanting to do the conversion PM me...i might have a deal for you. maybe.

the motor wasn't really designed for a manual trans either.... so you will prematurely wear out the thrust bearing on the crank.

The only thing that will hold up to the power is either a T56 or a TKO Tremec 5 speed. Both options with a HD clutch will cost you at least $2K to do.

I have a 85 El Camino hybrid and I drive it everywhere. No one has a clue what's under the hood.
