yes it was my first run with that turbo and

that much boost, my knock gauge shot up to double red real fast i figured if i shift into 3rd it would bring the rpms down and get rid of the knock, instead it got rid of my headgasket.

That'll do it.

1st time is a learning experience - 2nd time is stupidity.

Tune for zero knock

ba, how much boost??, what fuel were using??, what chip in your ECM??, what kind or who's fuel pump??, injector size??, any type of scan tools used, and do not run 25-28lbs. bost with alky on a single nozzle, 20-21lbs only on a single nozzle on pump gas, give us more info so we can help or just keep a poppin.

Combo is in my sig....if you were talking to me.

As long as your tuning for 0* KR you can run as much boost as you r combo allows, until detonation occurs. This number will usually be different for all engines/combos.

I can get away with a bit more boost/timing because my car weighs so much less than the g-bodys. But friends with t-types run 23-25 lbs of boost all the time with no issues....some more. One is using eric's chip and another a fullthrottle extender series. (i use the extender series as well). Another uses a custom burnt chip and only runs 18* timing and up to 30psi at the track on 93 octane and meth injection.

It's all in the tune....

I personally found 25lbs and 25* of timing seems to be the sweet spot on my car. But I have ran more boost and less timing in the past with no issues....yet.
