Fiero up date

I have run in to a few things with the fiero. With the JRC Head gaskets the comp. is 8.5 and with the 70MM TB and ported intake and heads I have DETONATION! starting at 7 PSI. I have no intercooler. I now have BOOST CREEP! With the puck left undone this thing will still boost 10-12 PSI so I will hog out the hole another 1/8in. thats all I have left, may be that will fix that. I put another M15 nossel now 2 running at the same time, now it bogs but if I turn the pump speed as the boost comes up it seeems to like alot of ALKY. So I just ordered a new progresive controler. Now thinking of a air to water intercooler. mid 10 sec. car?

Do you know Ryan Gick?
(I think that's his name)
I've seen him at the Buick GS Nationals a few times.
He has a silver Fiero with Buick Turbo V6 and I believe he runs low 11's.
He would be a good guy to talk to if you need any help, advice, ideas, etc.

Here are his websites:
1987 Pontiac Fiero 3800 Series II Turbocharged
Sinister Performance, LLC.

Talking

Hey John, a V6 3800 turbo Fiero just went 10.90 @ 127 mph. I think it's time to raise the bar.

I have a realy nice Fiero and it will go into the low 10s now that I'm installing a water to air intercooler that is good for a 1000HP but I will need a roll bar and I don't know how NHRA will have me put one in with out taking out the rear window. My car has the Champion aluminum heads ported intake roller cam 70MM TB a turbo good to 630HP.

So I would like to see some PIC. of that 10.90 fiero and see how he did his roll bar that NHRA passed.

Hey John, here is the link to his run

As of right now, it looks like he has no cage.

I would like to see one too. I have the engine at the shop right now for my Fiero. It's still a long way from being done. Its a 272 cui stage II, stage II headed motor with the TH425 tranny and a hybrid 80 Turbo.

Wow, I can't believe it fits in there. Any pics of it installed etc??

The boost is only supposed to be 12psi with the stock actuator only so if you wanted it lower you'd of needed a wastegate etc.

7psi and shouldn't be a problem on 93 oct and no intercooler. Sounds like you might have a phantom knock issue or a super lean fuel tip in you need to fatten up.

What are you using to tune?

I have a buddy who'll probably talk himself into doing this swap, it's a total sleeper.

Dump all the projects and have one car and a driver. That might take you a bit to do. Also he has been working on our dads car heavy for the last 2 yrs or more, lost count.

Yes I'm selling the TR7 and keeping the Vette and fiero and selling the CBX . The vette will be the last car I will do and it will be in the 8s for a street car. it mite even take ten years but that dose not bother me. The longer I take the cheeper the parts.
