Didn't re-anneal the shafts as we didn't un-anneal the part of the shaft where the bearing rides. Does that make any sense?

The misred site has been broken for awhile. I'll fix it sometime, just not sure when..

Was more concerned about the welding stresses.
But if no post weld heat treat was done , it obviously isnt a problem as you've done a couple sets that are still in use.

Did you weld the flanges on with your home mig ?

No. The guy that makes them for me uses a pretty stout TIG.
