Post 1987 Buick Somerset Regal performance ???'s

I was just wondering what is the difference as far as motor, drivetrain ect. between a 87 Buick Regal and the Buick Grandnational? Basically I would like to turn a Regal into a GN but what components will I need? The motor thats in the car now is a 3.0 V6 with roughly 100,000 miles, runs good, just looking for more performance out of it. I was considering a turbo or something that would not cost me a whole lot of money I'm on a budget, and possibly use the stock motor doing it. Is this possible? Nothing too radical, but 12's would be nice. Any help would be appreciated.

You would be reinventing the wheel here and wasting $10k. Just save up and buy a GN.
