| Does any of this seem like deja vu? Are you in any better shape for the rear end with this car? i.e. tough enough? gear ratio selection? I didn't realize how big that rotary was, wow. You're making me jealous of that sexy body style. That is going to be awesome. What are the motor plans? I've probably asked you most of this but I had a bit of the bubbly brew after we spoke (I think). |

Will not know if the shock towers will be an issue until later this week when I attempt to install my entire 4.1 motor with transmission attached. It seems the 3rd gen engine bay is only 1/2" inch in width smaller than the 2nd gen bay. Shouldn't be a problem. The main difference is the shorter nose. The motor that's going into the 3rd gen is the same motor that was in MisRed. 4.1, girdle, Champion heads, MSD50's ect ect. Only difference is I will be dumping the TE-52 for something like a T-70 or TE-45 and also I have purchased a 9.5" billet converter. The rear end in this one stinks too. 4.11 gears with no options to go taller (except for a 3.90 out of an automatic car). Plan is to get a Viper diff which is 3.07's and a Dana44 to boot. I plan to do my output shaft conversion on them to run the diff in conjunction with the stock CV's in the car. I also plan to hook the a/c up as an initial project. That is something I wish I had done to the red car way back when.

I put 3.33's in the Metro and hit about 6300 at the end of the track. I geared it for some more MPH but I think perhaps I was a bit overly optimistic unless I hose it. I'm really not that bent on going that fast though. I think the 3.07 will be a good cruiser but you may need somthing to get you going.

Dayum. You're fast. So how does it drive? ;) You're really getting things into place it looks like. How's the motor mount situation look? Could I ask favor? Could you drive it into something when you first get it going so I don't feel so bad? sweeeeeeet |

I'll see if I can back it out of the garage idling at 2000rpm with no brakes!

Got me in trouble. Not really, but i'm at school right now and my instructor keeps walkin up and seein' what I'm doin'. Good thing he owns a GN 'cause if he didn't I'd be screwed. Oh, btw, That car is tight. Ed (my instructor) said he'd rather keep the rotary in there but then I told him there was a small fire and he was like "oh, that's not surprising" 'cause we learned a little about rotarys and apparently they had an over-heating problem. Can't remember why but it's kinda funny. Anywho, keep it up Mike. When your done, since your so fast, maybe you can come work on my car???
