Post Z28 guy bad mouthing GN...

Guys name is Edster... Seems to think his (Stock)Z28 is gods gift to performance... When I told him I'd love to race him in my dads GN he went on about how my dads GN probably had about as much power as my R/T(I wish my R/T had that much power). You dont have to feast apon this faithless individual if you dont want... I just figured I would make it known that there is a Z28 guy waiting in there to argue who is the quicker.

What you have to understand is that most people do not know anything about GNs. I heard everything from, "that thing has a V8 right", to, "they're fast stock, but turn up the boost and the blocks can't handle it." I'm lucky, where I live, my car is very well respected and only a few brave souls have said anything bad about it(and my car isn't as fast as it could be). I shrug it off and laugh because I know they know nothing about the car.

Here's a story: I raced a 2002 Z28(auto and truly all stock). It was my buddy's coworker's car. I only had my old crapy chip(4 thenths slower than Thrasher 100), regular street tires that could only handle a 2psi launch, 15psi of boost, and a disgustingly filthy intercooler. I had a 1.5 carlength jump on him and some wheel spin. Then at the top of third he started to pull. When we shut down, I was about 1/2 carlength BEHIND him. I respect the LS1s and I bet a stick with a good driver could have had me all through the race. I don't take it personal though, I know my car is capable of much more and so is his.

I don't like to get too caught up in the internet "my box on wheels is faster than yours but I can't prove it cause your across the country." It just gets too silly sometimes.

Don't take it personally, just laugh and let it go.
