When are your cars going on the road?

Just wondering when people are putting their cars back on the road? I've always done May 1st, but I remember last year most guys had it out way before that. Just thought I'd ask and see.

Also wondering if anyone knows when the cruise night scene starts up again?

I don't have a specific date. Once the salt is COMPLETELY washed away then I insure it.

Owned this car since 1991 and it is now everything I wanted it to be: Fantastic throttle response, smooth idle, hauls ass and excellent fuel economy- I can drive it anywhere and do. THANKS TO BILL (MORE_BOOST) for finally making this car into the performer that I wanted AND caring for it like it were his own

Usually I have it on the road by the end of March but this year the weather has been extra-sucky and I'm waiting on a vanity plate so as soon as I get word that they're ready I'll be putting her on the road.

I have been enjoying the stress free Months of the cold winter, where I actually aim for the big bumps and look forward to driving in crappy weather, backing into snow banks and rubbing salt on the fender of my winter beater..

I think I'll leave it in the barn until spring 2010

I'm going to wait for the last freak snowfall we usually get in April to consider bringing her out for the season. More importantly though, as Ravi already stated before me, all of the salt will have to have already been thoroughly washed away.

Had several good days this winter to take it for a spin. Remember the mild weather and rain just before snowmaggeden 08. Later the roads dried up and neg 4 degC or so. The car made great power. Man that felt good.

Must be a Monte Carlo owner thing...

I had the MCSS out one weekend in Feb; it was a riot!

The cars will usually see use starting in mid-April.

Justasix - Motor looks absolutely beautiful.... EXCELLENT work.

Weyell....
My SVO is on it's LAST season as a drag piggy and then will be returned to 95% stock in the fall. Basically a 13.50 car on pump 94 and low boost, with ice cold A/C then up for sale.

If all goes well the drive line will be going in a pinto this fall..[got my eye on a clean one that's caged already fer $500]

Anyways once it's nice out for good I need to get mine on the road, do some back road laughing gas wideband tuning and hit the track. I'm going to have to do a Norbs. Start out leaving and getting my 60's downpat, run 1/8 mile then when I see a 6.90 or 7.0 run it the fawkl out the back door with the gas to to the mat, the nitrous spraying and boost guage pegged [30] in the hopes for a 10.99. If it runs this, i'll take my yelling at for no cage etc.. get the boot, and explain to them, that this will be THE END.
