Believe it or not CAT has Scrapped the ON highway line of their engines

The could not meet the 2010 emissions standards with their ACCERT program that they sunk millions into.

Cummins and Holset worked together to develop this new stuff.

Yes they are the Market leader in the heavy division

The have Engines Making 525HP and 2050 ftlb of Torque

They have to program the fueling and boost to ease in, if it comes on too hard they break transmissions, drive shafts and Diffs

Thats a boatload of torque.....

The only car that actually applies this technology efficiently is Porsche in their 997 Turbo, I can't think of any other automobile that uses other than the diesel trucks. I wouldn't be surprised if it did indeed operate on centrifugal force alone. When reaching different impeller rpm's the blades could theoretically spread out when the specified tension is reached on them pulling them outwards. Some sort of actuator otherwise has to be employed. Going to do some more research.

Every Turbo we change gets returned to holset for rebuild, it's the castings the really want back, any exhaust housings the don't call back would be JUNK...

Sorry

Considering at 45 psi the Turbo is spinning over 100000 rpm I don't think they want the wheels to Grow.

All the new holset turbo's I've seen have Billet compressor wheels.
