Computer Needed

Hey guys,

I have been having some trouble with my car not starting. I posted a thread in the tech section and I think it is most likely a dead computer. Does anyone have a spare ECM they could lend me so I can check to see if this is in fact the problem?

Thanks,

Devon

That would be super.

My email is reamandc@yahoo.com

Perhaps you can email me your number. I will be in Pickering tomorrow, maybe I can pop by and pick it up if you are around.

Thanks turbo heaven

I have one aswell, and by the looks of things I am in your area. I am up near McCowan & 16th. But I suggest you try another chip first. Very rarely does the ecm give out unless the put jumper cables on the wrond terminals or something of that nature. Email me at ssoutlaw24@hotmail.com Unfortunately I have not used chips since 92 with my Buick so I have no chips that you can try.

Thanks ttypewhite for offering your computer, I sent you an email. You are about five minutes from my house which is pretty cool. I have a bunch of chips that I have tried with no luck, trying another computer will put my mind at ease before I start buying things.

Red Regal, Brian at G-Body Parts or Mike at Muslecar Salvage should all have them. All good to deal with.

Mike, with this computer you lent me I must have picked up a good 50 hp. My old computer has always been a problem and I just never new it. Fortunately it crapped out. I just picked up a computer so I will get yours back to you as soon as I try it out and make sure it works. The car is missing, chugging and sputtering a whole lot right now just cruising but it seems to be working better when you step on it. I am getting code 32 I think it is, "EGR wiring fault" so that might have something to do with the sputtering. I am actually motivated to work on it now that I am headed in the right direction.

All I need now is to clear the sputter and chugging and get myself a 3" elbow / downpipe and this car should be half decent.
