| Labor Day Week-end Hi to All I have been receiving emails on a date for a Buick Meet at Napierville. I thought of the Labor Day Week-end because most are on Vacation in July and August and some would miss out on the Event. Some are located 5 Hours away from the Track, so I thought that this would be a pretty good week-end for those who have a long drive home. Please reply to this post if it is or is not good for you and make some suggestions! Hope to hear from you soon. Joe

| Joe, I don't want to break up the fun here, but every Buick racer knows that Labor Day weekend is the date of the annual "Buick Performance Weekend" at Englishtown, NJ...I'm not sure that it's a good idea to organize another Buick event on that same weekend... ![]() Also, it might be a much better idea to hold that event at Sanair instead of that Napierville dump mainly because of the better track conditions and better promoters too... I recently spoke on the phone with Jack Cotton and he told me that although he had fun and was glad that he came last year, he was pissed off by the sh**ty track conditions and had to park his car after only two runs, because it spun so bad every time the transmission shifted...I remember that he showed me proof of this, as it was recorded on his laptop computer. He too, said that he might be tempted to try Sanair instead of Nap...I replied to him that having been to Sanair a few weeks ago and knowing the people who organized the event I know for a fact, that traction was definitely NOT a problem as they prepped the track with traction compound the WHOLE LENGTH of the track! Claude. ![]()

I have to think about the people coming on both sides of the Prov. Stephane has tp drive 5 hours and I have some from Toronto that would like to come down too. Making it to Sanair is a much better choice, but makes it an extra hour drive for people from Ontario. Like I mentioned before..I am open to suggestions. Just trying to get as much Buick owners together at the same time. I have not heard of anyone here going to NJ this year, and that's why I suggested Labor day wee-end. I heard last year was not a good turnout anyways.. ![]() I am all ears for this meet... Joe

| The extra drive time doesn't bother me Joe. Just nail down an exact place and date so I can reserve a rental car and a hotel room. ![]()

I only come here once in a while as I'm on the "other" Buick site most of the time.As for the guys coming from a farther distance, well (the following is just a suggestion), maybe you could CLEARLY explain to them the differences between both Napierville and Sanair track conditions (NOT forgetting to mention how the promoters treat us, the racers you know where...), and ask them if they would mind travelling one more hour to race at a much better track and also, feel more welcomed?...Who knows?...You might be surprised of the replies you'd get IF things are clearly explained !...(For example, see "beachbum's" reply above!...)As for myself, if the event is on Labor Day weekend, I'm sorry but I won't be able to make it as I already have my motel reservations for Englishtown... ![]() Claude ![]()

| If i can throw a car together, I'll be at sanair for the 16th. But myself, Mike, mark p., peter d, derek w. and george will all be going to jersey for the bpw, as three of us (me, mike, george) do every year. I'll see how many of them i can coax into going to sanair on the 16th. ![]()

| What about doing this on Sept 13 & 14th. or 27 & 28th. at S-A-N-A-I-R ? (These are the dates where they hold the "Para series" races and when the whole length of track is litterally coated with traction compound! )...I'm pretty sure that I could convince Jack Cotton to come and show the local "nitrous big block V8" boys what a well prepared V6 can do! He (Jack) was pissed off by the poor track conditions at Napierville last year ... ...BUT... "Labor Day" weekend if definitely NOT a good date because several Buick racers (including myself) will be going to Englishtown, NJ for the annual "BPW" race... ![]() Claude ![]()
