Post Brockville Car Show

How's everyone doing? Things were a bit busy here last week after our GTP went up in flames while driving home from town.Looking for new wheels ,she's a rite-off.Anyways,I was wondering what time we are meeting at the show and how many spots will we need?I'm going to Kingston tomorrow or Saturday and could go early if Brad still isn't going.

Ron,

You'll have to tell us about the GTP incident at the show.

So far I think JC and I are going, although the weather may play a role.

If you aren't near a computer my cellphone number is 613-447-8569 and should work in that area.

Joe B,

How are the plans for you and your group looking for Sunday ????

Even if it looks overcast, we may still go, Brockville gets different weather than what is forecast up here, I would think that the show is big enough that even a few cars would show up.

FYI, the show will go on! Rain or shine. The weather report looks good for Sunday, so enjoy boys!

As for me, I am still going to miss out unfortunately. Take lots of pics of the Buicks and we can post them on he board for viewing.

Take care.

So far the plan is to get there pretty early to ensure a good spot.

Figure we will leave Ottawa around 7:30. Right now the plan is to meet at the McEwan's gas station on Fallowfield and Moodie. if you are heading south on 416, get off at Fallowfield and turn right.

If anything changes I will post. I can be reached at 613-447-8569

How about the Montreal Guys? Do you think we should meet up or just see you at the show ???

Cool

Hi Guys....Bad news for me. I went to the Track on Friday night. Pulled my best pass at a 10.96 @ 126 MPH. Traction was no good. And Holding the Brakes was not so hot either.(1.59) then the Tranny went South on me. I stayed stuck in first.

But one guy from Montreal will be going. Sheldon with his 87 Astro roof. He has GNX style Mags. I will have to make it up another time. In the mean time I will be taking the Pan off and see what went wrong.

Have Fun................"And Keep The Boost Up"

Joe,

You will definately be needing to make it up. We were looking forward to meeting you guys and seeing the cars.

About your trip to the track, bad news but I am sure you'll recover. If you aren't breaking parts, your're not running hard enough.

If it's any consolation, My tranny went last weekend and JC and Kyle helped me put a GM Reman in on Thursday. We hit the track Friday night, and I ran her hard and she didn't complain one bit.........

Let us know what you find when you open her up.

The Brockville car show was a good one as they had about 450 cars there. Of the Turbo Buicks there was 7 of us. 6 GNs and my ole' T.

The cars that placed in the class were a Chrysler Fifth Avenue, a Chevy Lumina and an '86 Cutlass 442.

I thought it was a good event, maybe next year we'll get more of us, as part of the fun was cruising on the highway with a lineup of cars........

My buddy Sheldon who was there saw a few of you boys. Some of you said to say Hello..Thanks to some of you..
It felt good to get the Car back in the 10's again, after a long time looking for an electrical problem I had. Now I have to fix the Transmission and find out why it's stuck in first gear. Hope to make it up another time..

Joe,

JC and I both met Sheldon there. It was good GN turnout.

Since the major shows are over, we get on to racing now. Keep us up to date on where and when you run. Napierville isn't too far away (1.5 hrs?) so we could run there. Otherwise, maybe you can get to Ottawa sometime.

Good luck with your trans........ cheers

Joe,

I guess it's a good thing that the problem was obvious, then you aren't hunting it down.

I am kind of confused about my present tranny. I put in a 3000 stall L/U TC in a GM Reman tranny.

It pulls pretty good but without the TC locked up and at WOT, it seems to shift at 5400+ RPM, basically the dash tach is going in to the red.

Is this because of the loose converter or do I have an issue with the trans ??

The trans has barely 200km on it, but I haven't opened it to see the internals. I am guessing that since it shifts high, and the 1-2 shift is pretty firm that it is a BRF VB with the proper governor.

Any thoughts ?>? dunno

Mike.
What size Converter are you using?
Is the Transmission a GN or other?
The Tach in the car is roughly 200 rpm higher.

A good shift point is around 5400 - 5600 RPM, if you want good ET's

Let me know
