| decisions decisions So, the 3.8 is broken down to just the block and I'm headed down to the engine shop this week (Universal Auto- Albany, NY)...I'm thinking on keeping the stroke and having it bored a bit, definitely a larger cam, I know that I'm having the heads ported and polished and maybe having the turbo hogged out. I have been reading a lot but I feel like person with all this information and can't sort it out any guidance from you hot air guru's would be appreciated![]() (has anyone done this before? and are happy with their set up? any complications I should look out for) |

| Tell the cylinder head machinist not to ream the valve guides, (have new ones installed). Also, have all the exhaust guide bosses machined for umbrella, (valve), seals. Balance the crank, (these things really shake after a lot of use).

| Make sure that the block is bored with a tourqe plat and one head installed. These blocks are very flexable. Make sure the mains are honed with both heads on for the same reason. If you plan to use different main, head, or rod bolts put them in before anythind is done. There can be allignment issues if you don't. |
