Red face V6 logo - What's wrong with this statement?

I saw this on TB.com by someone trying to win an arguement that a SBC powered car is somehow a Turbo Buick.

I am sorry that you can not grasp this.
The Turbo Six Logo is a variation of it.
Molly created Turbo Six Logo in the early 80s.

The quote makes no sense to me. I see three wrongs and one right.

Question What Da...

Rich,

That's very hard to wrap a sequence of neurons around!

If ever we had a Q re: the origin of the Power 6 logo,
Y-O-U are the authority on the genesis of the TRs.

It is not older than the turbo buicks:
Quote:
The first use of the logo that I know of was on several Buick Skyhawks fitted with Doug Roe turbocharger kits in 1978.
The turbo 6 logo is not a variation of it:
Quote:
The preceding is a description of the Buick V6 logo, which is also referred to as the "Turbo 6", "Power 6", "Molly V6", or the "GN Logo".
Molly may have created it but it wasn't in the early 80's.

Hey Rich, for more on the power 6 emblem and it's meaning and development check this out. " "

Pat, you got 'um.

I'd love to know what the difference between a Power 6 and Turbo 6 is. If he's referring to the all red 6, that came out in '85/86, certainly not older than Turbo Buicks (unless he means those SBC/TurboBuicks).

I also found a V6 logo on this '77 Century. I have to find out what year this car was done. Molly did the paint and I think this is when he came up with the V6 logo.

PS - notice the Vector wheels

There was an early 6 and a later 6 wasn't there? Something about the arrow overlapping the down stroke versus underneath the down stroke?

Nevermind.

Quote:
This emblem was first intended to be used on the 1982 Grand National. (It was used on the 1983-'85 Regal T Type.) It was replaced on production versions by the better known one piece emblem with the logo next to the words "GRAND NATIONAL". Compare this logo to the one above, and you will notice that the arrow travels behind the six, instead of in front. Logos on the instrument panel and seats of the '82 GN also appear this way. I believe this was a mistake, since almost all other logos, before and after, have the arrow in front. The only other "behind arrow" I know of is on the wheel center caps of the 86/87 GN.

Quite.

My 83 T-Type had the arrow end go under the top part, while my GN has the arrow part on top.
