| I think we need to get to know each other first. Please introduce yourselves. Let us know who you and what kind of car you have (or had, or want to have). Tell us what you do with your car. Daily driver, restoration, race car, quarter mile times? Have you modified it, kept it stock, or just trying to keep it running a little longer? Tell us your favorite "Before Black" cars. BTW, if you are new to boards like this, click on "profile" above to add a signature to your posts. When posting, click on "*UBB Code is ON". This will tell you how to add images and such to your posts and signature. And don't forget the smilies legend. And if you make a mistake, you can edit and delete your posts. Just find the right button above your message.------------------ Rich George - mailto:b4black@flash.netb4black@flash.net</A> BEFORE BLACK Website - http://home.flash.net/~rjgeorge/ 1982 Regal GN/SC [This message has been edited by b4black (edited September 30, 2000).]

| DOH! Forgot to introduce myslef! ![]() My name is Rich George. About ten years ago I decided I wanted something a little newer than my '65 Barracuda. I knew the Turbo Regals were they way to go. Power, good looks and RWD. After driving an '87 Blue on Blue TR I was hooked. But I couldn't afford $10,000. After searching I found an '82 GN. Wasn't as fast, but better looking and affordable. I later found out how uncommon they are especially with the Turbo V6. I liked it so much, I soon found another. ![]() I started the Before Black Website to try to correct soem of the mis-information I was finding in Turbo Buick books. I added the Turbo section after many e-mails from Carb/Turbo owners looking for help. I soon added a message board, and that has moved here (and there). The first '82 GN/SC is in good shape and will slowly get better. I have collected many NOS parts for it. I am going to do some light modifications and a little racing with it. Nothing that can't easily be undone. Right now it has a 160 degree thermostat, a K&N 9" cone, the EFE and Thermac removed and '83 Turbe headers are going on this weekend. Hopefully I will have track times to report very soon! The other GN/SC has lead a rough life. It's parked for now waiting on a transmission. It needs interior work and has been repainted solid charcoal. The engine emissions have been butchered and the long block has been replaced with the wrong year block, so I think I will make this a race car. Again, nothing that can't be undone, but since motor's already a mess, I can't make it worse. I also have an '82 TR I am parting out. It has a 3.08 posi that will find it's way into one of these cars. ------------------ Rich George - mailto:b4black@flash.netb4black@flash.net</A> BEFORE BLACK Website - http://home.flash.net/~rjgeorge/ 1982 Grand National Sport Coupe [This message has been edited by b4black (edited September 29, 2000).]

| Hello! Thanks for getting us "visitors" on the board. (no e-mail to register)I am Dan L. (from the BB website board) I have a 1981 Regal Sport Coupe. It is pretty stock and use it to get to work everyday. I have had it for about two years, but haven't figured it completely out yet. I am learning though. ![]() I think I may want to try racing it someday, but keeping it running right is my main concern. I want to change to a 1983 turbocharger and headers. It may not be a "Black" car, but I like it! Dan L. 1981 Regal Sport Coupe ------------------ posted by a visitor of the BEFORE BLACK Website that is not a registered user of TurboBuicks.com

| NOW AVAILABLE ON DVD | As most of you know my name is Pat and I own a 1983 Regal T-Type that I have invested too much time and money in. I am an assistant manager at a auto parts store. I have a wife and 2 kids and have lived in alot of places but now live back in the town I was born in. I bought my car in Sept. 1998 for $1350 from the 2nd owner. It was originally sold at a dealership about 60 miles from where I bought it from. My main goal with it is to make it quick and pretty at the same time. I like to do little things that set it apart from the rest. Just little touches.

| Hello, my name is Dave, and I'm a caroholic. I have a thing about Vega's. I've considered doing some other project cars, but I keep coming back to the Vega. Parts are cheap, byt they are hard to find. Plus I know the cars inside-out. One of my internet buds, "Vega Man Larry" Heagren, talked me into building a Turbo Buick-powered Vega. He gave me the entire set-up-- manifold, plenum, turbo, up-pipe, down-pipe, cross-over, and an MSD-6 BTM. So now I have two obsessions; the Vega and carbed Turbo Buick engines! I spend hours trying to learn about these engines and looking for parts for my engine build. It's a fun project, and I appreciate all the information I've received from the "Before Black" guys. Later,

| I'm that guy "Freddie" Jimbo was rambling about. I know nothing about anything. I don't even own a turbo motor. Anyway you can ask me anything and I'll give an answer or respond with a question....or something like dat? I was around asking questions about the N/A version of the Regal when Rich had his own forum back before these smilie type forums came around. (These are way cooler)! These are the finest bunch of Buick owners I'll ever know.... ![]()

| Registered User | Introduction I'm Eric Enneking. I have several Buicks, most of them being 80's cars now. I started my driving experience in high school with a 68 Lesabre conv. and have always been a diehard Buick fan. I have had several 78-79 TR's and had loved how fast I could pull out in front of someone. I then graduated to an 81 Limited SC that was a roach infested mess but I truely loved. Currently I have a 84 GN t-top car and an unmolested 66K 83 T-Type with t-tops which is my summer commute car. I definitely enjoy these cars and the People like Pat, Rich, & Freddie who are a wealth of info and have so much more insight than I do about these carb/turbo cars. ![]()

| i just checked this site out and by the post dates i'm late. mike nixon's my name and i've owned a 78 2bbl turbo regal since 83. the car's got a mild cam and has been bored .030 with a th350 trans and a 3:23 posi, med blue metallic over light blue cloth ,bench seat car. pretty low options with a/c being the only non std creature comfort outside of the chrome rally's. it's been an on again off again project since 89 or so,one of these years i'll actually finish it. i put 10 yrs in at the local buick dealer as a line tech/ parts guy / service manager. i'm now a self employed auto tech.[ not smart enough to run and hide.] i also moderate over on performance years for those of you who're into pontiacs as well. it's good to see the non efi cars still have a following and haven't all been converted to sbc's. mike |

| My name is Andrew Cole and I also am a caroholic. Wrench turning and knuckle busting have been my hobbie since I was 9. Started building model cars then and graduated to real cars when I was 13. I am now currently in the process of a make over of my 84 Regal Limited. It has been in the family for some years but now it is time to look nice again. I have a rebuilt 4.1 that is bored 30 over with an Edelbrock performer cam, intake and carb. I have headers and will make a custom dual exhaust. Custom because the kit that I bought from Summit isn't for a G-body so I will have to make it fit. It has the buick rally rims on it with 265/14 tires on it. The plan is to paint it as an 82 GN which is my favorite year of GN. ![]()

| from NC and slowly getting into the resto of an 82 GN, which will wither have the 4.1 converted to the SFI turbo setup or a big block, changes almost daily.

| My name is Sumner and I own a 1987 Buick Regal with a 3.8L N/A V6 which I converted to a Q-jet but still have the computer system to keep it legal in my state. I am mainly restoring it to be a daily driver with better power than stock. Got it up to 130 HP but I will get it higher.
