Tuning for knock in 4th?

I just got my TT chip for my newly installed Razor's progressive alky kit and took it for a spin today. With the dial set to 4, it was getting no knock at all through 3rd gear. Once it shifted to 4th gear, the Scanmaster flased a 13.2 knock count and I let off. Should I be upping the alky and tuning for 4th gear instead of 3rd?

You should be going thru the lites in third is the most correct answer

Otherwise, you need more alky, less boost, and/or timing.

If you are trying to top end the car, tune for fourth...for drag racing/street racing...tune for third.

Sounds good to me. Actually, in the year and a halfish that I've owned the car, that was the first time I had ever hit 4th gear under WOT, so I guess I don't use it that much anyhow. I just didn't want to change the tune too much for 4th and adversely affect 3rd since it pulls so well in 3rd. I was just worried that it was such a drastic change from 3rd to 4th. From 0.0 knock to 13.2. I'm guessing that means 24ish psi is too much for the stock turbo/injector combo by the time I reach 4th gear?

Regardless, I'll tune for 3rd. If I ever feel I might hit 4th, I'll give the alky knob a little twist before I get there or something. I guess that would be in another year and a half....

Jesus how fast were you going that you were in 4th at WOT.

At first I thought it was probably shift knock but then saw you were on the stock turbo and injectors with who knows how much timing.

I'd find out your Duty Cycle and hope your not over 100% and really running lean up there.

And when you say 4 on the alky kit do you mean the 11 o'clock position??

Here is what I've learned if you want to enjoy your GN, tune for absolutely zero knock and don't get greedy with boost unless you're over the top on octane etc. I'm 22psi at 25 degrees with Meth at 1 o'clock and 5 gallons of 110. I'm running 99 octane with Meth injection at only 22psi and 25 degrees, pulls like a mule and ZERO knock even at the top of 3rd.

I've learned it's not always how hard you play, but for how long you're in the game.

It was on a 1 1/2 mile straight on a side road on my way home, not the track. There were no other cars as far as the eye could see.

When I say 4 on the alky, I mean number 4 on the controller of the Razor's kit. It's numbered 1-8 on the dial.

I plan to turn the boost down a notch once it's all back together. Changing head gaskets is as much fun as I thought it would be.
