| Hi, newbie here! I've got an '01 Grand Prix GTP that I've converted to turbo. So I basically have a front wheel drive 4-door Grand National. I'm running a Precision PT-61 (T4/T4) turbo, air to air intercooler, turbo spec cam, and mild heads. The car currently runs consistent high 11's, and I just purchased an alky/meth injection kit from alkycontrol. Oh, and I also have a PLX wideband and can change timing and boost easily. I have purchased some VP M1 methanol and was told by the vendor to run 100% pure methanol through the progressive system. I'm using a single M10 nozzle tapped into the throttle body (pre-blade and post maf). However, I want this to be somewhat easy to tune and several have told me to mix the 100% pure methanol half and half with distilled water. That's what devils own suggests also. Is this what you all suggest also? I'm not trying to get every last possible horsepower out of this car, I just want some reasonable gains that's all. I'm guessing I could get more gains out of it by running pure methanol, but if the tuning would be more difficult I'd rather run a mix of meth and water. I'll be selling it in the spring anyway. So will it be easier to tune with a 50/50 mix? Is this what you all would run if you were me? Just looking for some tips! ![]()

| Why would anyone want to spray water into a motor?? Meth is a high octane fuel that cools the intake charge, so it's a double wammy...I'm no great tuner but it only took me a couple of tries to get mine to 28 psi on straight 93 and meth.

| Yea I called up Julio (at alkycontrol) this morning and told him what some others were telling me to do (mix with water) and he told me the reasoning behind running all meth......that water doesn't burn and I'll get sputtering if I do a 50/50 mix. I'm new to all of this so I'm trusting him. He said my AF would go down to about 9.5:1 but I have the means to lean it out so that'll be no big deal. Thanks for the replies and confirmation! ![]()

| Dan, I'm curious. How do you lean out your car? Through the chip or do you have some other engine managemet?

| I'm always nervous that sometime I might remove the battery or disconnect the ecm wire and forget that I have lost my settings. Does it make sense to have Eric burn a chip with your adjusted settings?

| Fortunately a/f changes are a cinch on my car. I've got an AFC routed inside the cabin where it takes all of 10 seconds to adjust the AF. ![]()
