Alky kit coolant overflow tank

Ok guys, I gotta say it. The ALKY system is a very nice system. I personally have the new SMC kit on my 86 GN. I am very happy with it. They are both very nice systems. BUT, can we get a nicer coolant overflow tank with them.(I am talking about the small tank for your coolant reservoir, not where the alcohol goes since that is actually a coolant reservoir converted into your alcohol tank) I personally would have no problem paying a little more for something other than that cheap ass looking one that comes with both of these systems. And you get these plastic hangers that are all flimsy and will probably break over time that are supposed to hold the thing on. Call me picky. I know there is VERY limited space on where and how to mount the tank, but maybe theres a nicer tank out there to go WITH THE SYSTEM FROM THE MFR. I am thinking like an aluminum tank that looks nice. I dont mean any disrespect. Like I said, these are both very nice kits, and maybe they couldnt find another tank that would work. All I am doing is making a suggestion. Anyone who has any pics of different tanks (and where you got it) or mounting places for the tank. Post away.

Jegs

Check out Jegs for some nice tanks I just put in a order yesterday for a polished octagon one. And yes I agree the plastic overflow is not a quality piece.

i used the same tank in a stealth kit i pieced togather my self. besides the blue of the alky and the nozzel kind of hidden, the kit is totally hidden to the untrained eye. i'll post up pix tonight.

but as far as something fancy for the $500 kits, i would agree with you there.

Here is our solution. We custom make this tank. Its not a cheap blow molded tank, but a spin welded tank. Walls are 3/16 inch thick.

DetailPage

All of our trunkmount kits come with that tank. The price on that tank is for the tank, straps, brackets to bolt it down and fittings to connect it to nylon hose. If you have stainless hose we carry fittings for that there is an upgrade charge due to the extra cost of stainless compression fittings. This fits all SHURFLO pumps from every manufacturer. The bolt pattern will not bolt up to the Flojet pump, but you can custom make an adapter plate for it.

Just showing everyone our solution.
