| Well after reading Every Post my verdict is, The customer whether or not he bought it from a dealer that sells coolingmist's product or from coolingmist it's self is irrellevant! The customers controller failed, The customer tries to look for the problem and realizes that there is something loose and bouncing around inside the controler, The customer decides to "Simply" remove a measly cover and something falls out and isn't found. Item is sent back to the place of purchase and was truthfully explained, Place of purchase sends it to the coolingmist, Coolingmist says NOPE! HE OPENED THE COVER! the warranty is Void! The place of purchase is willing to help out with paying for half the price of a new one, Coolingmist is willing to do NOTHING at this point. The customer feels he shouldn't have to spend anything and doesn't agree with having to buy a new contoler. customer gets to the point where he finally posts a thread about the situation, A link to the Orriginal coolingmist's warranty was posted here and said Nothing in regaurds to anything being opened up, Coolingmist now at this point wants to offer some kind of help on this matter, The customer at this point (after this long) doesn't want nothing to do with coolingmist but simply wanted to let people know his problem/situation in this thread, Now there is a link to Coolingmist's warranty and has since been redone. MY TAKE: From a buisness stand point. "What would it have really cost Coolingmist to just send out a new one or fix his controller and send it back to the customer"? Not much! it would have benn a good buisness move. Soemtimes it's better for a company to swallow some minor cost and make a customer happy than to stick to your guns (warranty) and simply upset the customer and end up having the whole situation posted publicly. From a buisness stand point it's not worth it to having something like this posted publicly. It will only loose MORE CUSTOMERS instead of build your customer base Whether the customer is right or not!! GREAT EXAMPLE: This year in BG I realized that the Fuel pump Hot Wire kit that I bought from Full Throttle Speed was bad. It's been on the car for over a year!! I went to mike and asked him if he had a fuse or a relay that I can buy and He just threw me a whole new brand new complete kit in the bag and said "Here ya go! This should fix it!" "Don't worry about it" I was flabbergasted. That is some great customer service! He didn't have to do that at all and could have charged me for a new one seeing it "Obviously Wasn't Under Warranty".. Coolingmist- This is just a word of advise, Next time you might want to re-think the simpleness on your part to gain a customers respect and in return that same customer will brag about your customer service like I do about "Full Throttle" and ALOT of the other vendors that I have delt with over the years.. "The good companys will bend backwards to help the customer, The bad ones won't" ......

At the end of the day, dont open up the controller and you will be fine. Its pretty simple stuff. when someone opens the cover, how do I know the problem was not caused from someone opening it? There is no way to know. If its not open, the problem is the manufacturing. There are many little washers and parts tha can come off if not put together right, if they hit the surface mount electronics they can fry the board. Warranty is clear. | Would you say that John from Caspers is a Great Upstanding Vendor?? I DO!!!!!! 100%!!! BUT, I opened up a knock guage & he wouldnt warranty it. Plain & simple it was tampered with. I understood. I spend $$$ with John every year & donated $$$ when the crap hit the fan for him last year. Not a second thought about helping him out! I wasnt offended that I screwed up & thus No Warranty. Guess people (including myself) need to follow the RULES if they expect warranty work. Just stating what happened in my case. So I can see both sides. ![]()

| Vote for Guy Fawkes | Mfrs for years have been adding paint to screws so they can tell if their product has been tampered with. If the paint is chipped, etc they won't honor the warranty. If someone doesn't understand / hasn't been made aware of this stipulation on what's warranted, they've been under a rock or somewhere b/c it should be common knowledge anywhere you go. Bottom line is, until the warranty runs out, your best bet is to treat whatever it is like it still belongs to the mfr if you want the warranty honored in the future. ![]()

| You need to reread every post again with comprehension. The responsibility lies with the vendor that incorporated the CM controller into his private product line. If one buys a car from GM and a Moog ball joint breaks, one goes to GM, not Moog.
