| NEVER EVER AGAIN | How big of a wet shot I want to try taking off the alky and going more to a track style set up with race gas and nitrous. I think the engine should be able to handle at least a 200 wet shot but I figured Id ask in here. The engine is girdled and all forged with a TH400, but its the nitrous reaction with the higher cylinder pressures I dont know anything about. I have FAST, T70, all forged roller, 83#, etc etc.

| Some of the Pro Mod guys use a 800hp hit on a motor with 15:1 compression.Just like with the turbo, its all in the tune up. A safe starting point is 3 degrees ignition retard for every 50 hp of nitrous. A timing retard device like Jacobs Nitrous Mastermind or Timing Retard from MSD is a good tool for this. They only pull timing when the nitrous solenoids open so the car runs better when off of the spray. I ran this way for years when I was a n2o junkie.HTH ![]()

| What has worked really well for me is around a 100hp shot. I use all Cheater system components, and run through a single fogger nozzle. Nitrous jet is a #46 Fuel jet is a #42 Depending on boost levels, it's good for approx 100hp at the rear wheels.

Depending on your FAST system, you should be able to activate the nitrous and have a seperate timing table for the nitrous. Things to consider are boost level- Nitrous will give you a bump in boost. 50hp 1-2lbs timing- I have retarded 2 degree for every 50hp Traction- 100-200 off the line will challenger your traction Progressive control- again depending on your FAST system you might be able to bring it in form say 25% to 100% over 2 seconds Plugs- run a little colder plug and check them (best way to tune the nitrous) Hope that helps | |
