| Alky Tank Repairs? Unpacked my "used" alky tank/kit today, filled with methanol & meth came streaming out top corner of tank. Looks like somehow it got gouged & was not noticed earlier. I have a call in to Steve C at SMC re: any acceptable repair methods/ materials for these tanks--containing methanol. I was wondering, in the meantime, if any gurus out there in TBs land have had any similar probs & have made acceptable repairs compatible with these "plastic" tanks and methanol??? TIA for any help!

| Give Steve a call for sure! Methanol will eat away at alot of the epoxy on the market. We normally replace one without any ?'s asked if need be. I am sure steve will take good care of you. |

| It's back in the mail to Steve @SMC as I'm writing this. We decided to take the "high ground" & just put my existing goodies in a new tank (which he has available & is better set-up to do it). I was not comfortable with plugging + JB weld--as long as a replacement tank was available... A good Xmas and New Year to all & tks for all the help, Monte ![]() |
