Is anybody running Cooling Mist system??

I am about to buy an alchy kit, I am leaning toward the coolingmist trunkmount progressive kit.

Just curious I have read several threads but I don't think there was 3 people that said they actually had it on their cars.

I am in georgia and that is where they are also. The kit looks really nice, and is about the same $$ as others.

I would just feel better if someone had some feedback about them or their products.

Scott,

we have alot of our progessive kits to turbo buicks and several of those are on this forum. There are a few trunk mount kits that we sold recently on this forum, hopefully someone will chime in. Our brand new trunk mount kit is slighlty different as now the controller is mounted to the tank

I would love to show you around our shop and let you see the controller and kti first hand.

I was actually planning on going to your place friday morning.
But I did have one question, I looked on ebay and on your website and it looks like I could save money on ebay.
Shouldn't it be cheaper at the store??

We dont have our trunk mount progressive kit on ebay. Our Standard trunk mount is on ebay for same price as our standard trunk mount on our store.

The controller kit we have on ebay has no tank, if you add the trunk mount tank, it will be more than the trunk mount kit.

We have alot of options, you just let me know what product you want and I'll get you the price. Let me know what time you will be there. Also, since you are doing a local pickup (if you purchase), I'll get you a special.

I run the coolingmist trunk mount kit on my RX7, first time out to the track with dual m15 nozzles it worked flawless, 24# boost, 26 degrees timing on a 9.5 to 1 CR motor and no knock, Oh yea it also pulled a 1.48 sixty on the second pass when it hooked on a 4# launch so it sure did not flood the motor. So yea I like it . By the way my whole reason for going with the CM kit was the trunk mount setup.

That is what I like is the trunkmount, under the hood is too cluttered already.

I was looking at this new setup where the controller is mounted to the tank, but was thinking that could be a blessing but a pain trying to get it dialed in correctly.

Once you dial it in, you may not even change the settings. Think of it this way, you dont have to mount the controller on the tank, you can mount it in your car.

You have alot of options with this kit.

Thumbs up

I have one on my car and love it. The kits was mounted stealth and uses the wiper fluid tank. The only prolem is when the Alchy gets low the pump sees to take a while to prime. I think its my fault cause i use the stock pickup tube that comes from the top of the tank. I am going to tap a hole in the bottom and put a fitting down there. I run 24LBS 20Deg timing and get 2.5 to 3.9 deg retard. I am thinking of adding another injector or a bigger nozzle.

Are you running a trunk mounted tank or one inside the engine compartment??
I went ahead and purchased a trunkmount setup with the controller on it.
I got the nylon line but I am thinking about upgrading to a hard line or stainless line.

Do you like the controller??

Like I said it(nylon hose) just came with the kit. I am thinking of using a vent for the gas tank at the rear of the car since I don't have emissions inspections and then using the vent line for my feed line to the motor compartment. I am going to see if it is big enough, if not I am going to run a stainless flex line or a hard steel line down the frame rail.

Trunk Mount

Thats my next move is to get the trunk mount. having that pure methanol next to my down pipe is unnerving. I had another system that didn't me my expectations and went to the Cool Mist setup. I have it plumed to the egr valve line (my egr was taken off when I changed to Champ heads and intake and they are welded close) with steel braided hose and double clamped. I like the idea of running off boost pressure directly as it cuts down on parts that my malfunction even thought I was told Quote We've never had a failure with this set up. Go with the stainless braided hose but make sure to keep it away from starter wires, battery posts I do have first hand experience it will glow.
You'll love the adjust-ability of the unit and quality of the unit.
this has been an unpaid advertisement of the Cool Mist product line and my not reflect the views and opinions of other GN owners
