Im interested in installing alky...but I was wondering if someone can give me some insight on how it really works and what are the hp/boost/power gains I can get.

Tell us what you have? Mods? How many miles on the motor? You can put alky on your car and go out and promptly put the crank through the oil pan if then motor is too tired to support the added stress from another 8 pounds of boost.
Best to put some race gas in the car and test the components before you install alky. That is, if it appears to be in good mechanical shape (good oil pressure at idle, fuel system capable of the extra boost, etc.)
Let us know more and do some reading on Steve Woods' site and on my link below to get up to speed on the basics.
