| What injectors are in the car? You need to know that to get a chip burnt. If you can't get the specs. somehow on what you have currently in the chip I would email Eric Marshall at Turbotweak once you are sure of the injector size. Tell him everything you have on the car including the crappy 91 gas you will be using. He can burn you a more modern alky. chip with the proper timing for that gas and your DIY setup, just give him the nozzle size(s) you plan on using. Good luck. ![]()

| Typically a low timing street chip works really well. Also on stock motors, chips like the thrasher 92 shine as well since theye open loop chips and make tuning easier.. But you have to know what your injectors are, keep the timing low in the 19-20 degree range and start from there.. HTH |

| I have two different alcohol chips, one is from Jay Carter and the other is from Eric Marshall. eric@turbotweak.com They both run well, but Eric's chip rocks. He will make changes for free for one year (except inj. size) His customer service is superior! |

| Free Information Kits | I've had enough good results with Thrasher 93, Jay Carter 20* timing Street and Red Armstrongs 93 w/24* timing chips and have never had a custom alky chip made up. I guess if you race with alky, a custom chip might take you a little farther but for the varying conditions you'll encounter on the street, I wouldn't bother using a custom chip as anything too close to the edge might lead to trouble. Disclaimer: I'm sure there are other opinions and feel that people are free to spend their money as they like. I just don't think this is an expense that most will need to include in their car budget.

| Steve, can't argue with that logic assuming someone has a clue what chip is in the car and how well it is burned to the combo. Unfortunately most DON'T and wonder where the performance and drivability is in their cars. "right now i have the postons chip not sure what it is....." I would burn a good alky. chip to the combo. and be done with chip buying for the car. ![]() Hence the recommendation for TurboTweak. ![]() |
