Question How does alcohol injection work?

I've honestly no clue as to how this set up works. What does it do, and how does it improve the power of your car? Might sound dumb, but I figured instead of searchin' the 'net I'd ask you guys first. I did a search on alcohol injection but nothing like this came up. http://www.turbobuicks.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

That sort of explained it. So basically it's like a nitrous injection, except you're injecting...denatured alcohol? I'm still not fully understanding this. You crank the boost up and use the alcohol so you don't have to use race gas? I assume this can't be on all the time.

From what i gather about the system, it will turn on under boost so it is something that works only when you need it.(like getting rid of knock) I am ordering the kit on monday, when I get it installed I will let you know what I think.

It allows you to run more boost and timing on pump gas than normally is allowed.

Turn on psi. is from 8 to 15 for most cars.

It is very important to have the car in a good state of tune before the alky. kit is added.

Scan tools are a must for using the kit and tuning it right.

Ever feel how alcohol feels on your skin? COOL! It has that same effect on the heated air charge from the turbo. It has similar benefits to running higher octane fuel, allowing higher boost and/or timing. But, you don't foul out O2 sensors week after week and you can run around in "kill mode" all the time, rather than just at the track! SMC makes a very good kit and is plug 'n play.

So will the alcohol be injected if he, say, mashes on the gas and the boost rises? http://www.turbobuicks.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

The alcohol turns on at a certain boost level and then turns off when you reduce the throttle and return back to normal driving.

I like YGETV8's response.

But what about us poor saps with Precision FMIC's? Do I have to tap my own hole?
