does alky affect egt readings??

Hey guys , got Razors kit. I am pushed the 70gtq at 26 psi so far with 93 octane and alky, it was a fulkl run. My egt was 1270, which is very rich. I heard alky will make egt readings not accurate?? Is this true. I am worried about that.

thanks]
Ralph

I think your EGT guage needs a new battery

I compare EGT to one wire sensor O2's and they usually line up. Only if there is KR will the egt be higher. Example is 750's for O2's = 1600 for EGT. 720's for O2's = 1670's

Glad your having fun..

Hery Razor, my egt is good, it is a calibrated fluke meter. I have me-r, so I am going to change the pos to take some fuel out. But I heard that alky mess's up the readings with o2's and egt. I guess not??

thanks man
Ralph

By the way, what do I owe you for that filter?

My buddy has an EGT meter with the same condition.. wont read past 1250.. I swapped my meter in.. bam up to 1600's.. Sometimes things arent like one would think. Put the meter in another car..see what happens?

The stock o2s have no meaning other than in the crudest sense.

I run my ME-R around 1600 on 93/alky-use the least alky you can to advoid detonation and then start pulling fuel. If you get any detonation before you reach 1550 or so...then wonder about your probe.

Mine idles very well. Being open loop, they should idle as well, or better, than anything around.

I think the in gear idle is 800 on mine and 850 in Park with 75# injectors.

Sounds like you have some other problem...vacuum leak, or such.

Does not sound like something that tuning will handle.
