Nitrous allows higher boost?

Since nitrous does cool air intake temps a whole lot would that allow you to run higher boost like alky injection except add maybe even a lil more power since it IS nitrous(33% O2 by weight I belive) or in alky injection is there enough injected to increase the overall octane rating of the mixture enough to allow more boost and thats mainly why it allows more boost? Basically would spraying the motor be another way to allow for more boost?
