Lightbulb E85

How about E85 for alcohol injection? I think it would work and it's plenty cheap if they sell it near you.

(E85 is 85% ethanol and 15% petroleum)

I can't see that being an issue. The fuel will be totally miscible in the ethanol and fairly dilute.

I wouldnt run it on a shurflo pump. On an EFI pump..sure..

And again.. methanol is 2.50 a gallon.. 100 bucks for a 55 gallon drum.. how cheap do you want to go?

Plus its tried and proven. That in itself.. is huge in terms of "issuez".

As the Life cereal commercial.. You first

As soon as I find a methanol pump near my house, I'll buy it. (I'm not into storing a 55gal drum of flammable liquid.)

Why the hell would the pump seize? Why wouldn't it work on a Shurflo? Any other reason than "I don't know about that, so I won't try it". ;)

E85 is available from the same pump as premium gas. (Unfortunately, it not available yet near me or I would try it.)

Well the seals inside the shurflo we all use are not designed to handle oils/petroleum products. Hence the same reason you cannot use a plastic jug to store gasoline.

It may end up working for you.. may not. Only way to tell is try it.. worst case.. well.. pump housing swells and leak/fire. Best case it works. Tho my understanding is petrleums are a no-no.

Just get an EFI pump for your DIY kit

My DIY kit uses a 45 psi washer pump. It would be interesting to know what kinda seal can handle alcohol, but not petroleum....

No plastic jugs for storing gasoline? Then what are all the red gasoline jugs at the hardware store made of? ;)
