Daily driver + H20 injection = Gas mileage increase?

Well, I don't really drive my GN hybrid unless I'm out "playing". Usually I commute to work and make long trips with my 87 toyota supra. I know I won't get any really noticable performance gains with water injection, but I'm more interested in the gas mileage increase.

Problem is I don't really know all that much about it, just small tid-bits I've read on the net. So I just wanted to run a quick plan by you all before I try it.

I doubt I need that much pressure or volume since I'm NA and all. Use a very fine misting nozzle up stream of the VPC and a large tank for the h20. Wire up an on/off switch to a small pump (windshield washer pump?). This way I can turn it on while i'm on the 60 mile trip to work on the highway everyday.

I have read that the o2 sensor will then lean out the mixture and tell the computer to advance timing. Resulting in better mileage.

Thats it in a nutshell.

Problems I can think of.

I'd neeed to advance the base timing quite a bit to see good results. So that means Id'd have to run the water injection all the time? Would it be better to make a system that is basically on all the time. THen I would have to come up with an rpm activated switch that shuts off the pump at idle and low rpm.

Lastly, do you think this is a huge waste of time and effort?

I would think the best thing you could do for mileage would be to get rid of that 3.90 gear.......

Oops! My bad! lol.

Have you ever heard of platinum vapor injection? A buddy of mine has it on his 99 T/A and he swears by it for helping out gas mileage. Never used it myself though to prove such claims.......
