..but one quick question....what would methonol or the denatured stuff be rated at in terms of octane? Or is that a dumb question?

Its a tough question that depending where you research will be anywhere from 105-120. Depends on the type of alcohol, who made it, formulation, etc.

Methanol does work better than denatured. Probably becuase it has higher octane. But both do a tremendous job of cooling.

And while it does burn, it typically isnt used in this fashion. Hence why C16 isnt sprayed into the motor vs alcohol. Well it has like with an ATR 7th injector setup for example.. but not the same effects.
