SMC Progressive Controller

I'm thinking about upgrading my SMC kit to use the new progressive controller. Has anybody else used this product? What were your thoughts on it? I've also considered Razor's kit but I can upgrade my SMC kit for a hundred bucks vs 480 for a whole new kit.

Well the problem with the SMC progressive is that its only good to 20 PSI. Tho Steve says he has in the works a controller for a 3 bar as well. This you'll have to contact him.

The other problem is you cant adjust ramp speed. you can adjust turnon point but not how fast it ramps..we're talking progressive here not set turnon point. So how fast the alcohol is delivered to the motor cannot be done on the current setup.

I hope you understand what I mean by ramp. This is one of the keys to making one of these devices rock.

Lastly, it will not allow a reduction input for staging the car.

Mine is more expensive due to the 3 bar sensor required, and all thats involved in making the kit. I have sold controllers to SMC owners, and its worked well. Tho the expense may not be justified by some.

If you have a Honda with a turbo kit running 16 psi, his controller will probably work well. Since small displacement motors cannot handle a lot of alcohol initially well. On a Buick running upwards of 23 PSI.. its a whole different story.

Lots of GN owners very content with their SMC kits. I just went a totally different direction accomplishing the same thing, to get alcohol into the motor. I have my bias. And my following

I have a dual nozzle SMC. Can this be upgraded to progressive with SMC or Razor's stuff?

My controller will work on the SMC pump, tho I wouldnt. See by the time you buy my controller and a 3 bar sensor.. your at 260.00. Most of my switch overs come from selling the SMC kit for like 280-300, and add an additional 180-200 and get a bigger pump, larger container(1 gallon), filter, 3 bar, progressive, etc.

You can buy a progressive from SMC for your kit, but the headroom issue due to pump volume is at question. Also dont know if he's come out with a new controller that adjustable on the ramp. In other words do you want 80 PSI alky at 17 or 23 PSI. And if you run 80 PSI at 23 PSI.. and the car goes to 30 PSI then what.. thats what I mean about headroom. You need a pump that can deliver high volume in the case the car for some reason overboosts.

Theres a lot more, i'll leave things alone with this.
