| Alky kits, i have read to much and confused If you have a alky kit, which one do you have? What did you like or not like about it? Would you buy the same one again if you started over? I want a clean looking install and ease of install. I am thinking of SMC kit

| I have an SMC kit and it is a very nice and clean install. Looks great. Steve is a good guy too, and will help you if you have any problems along the way. Can't say how it compares to other kits because I haven't tried other kits or know of anyone that has. Stevemon homemade kit looks really good and for the price it is definitely a plus! |

| Two ways...buy the SMC or build a do it yourselfer ala the info given on Stevemon's site.... SMC is nice because of the controller....Steve's is nice because of the price....either/both work well.

| SMC user here and I love it. I would never have a GN that I drove on the street without an alky kit. ![]()

| My SMC works great in Texas! ![]() I see SMC has revised their kit and now offer a pressure gauge which is very handy plus optional controllers that offer alky by air flow or by boost. I have never had a problem with balancing flow with boost so I am not sure I would buy the optional controllers, but, I like some of the new features that make the kit more robust. The other kit looks nice as well....make these things any fancier and they will be getting up there with propane...but still performing better, imo. ![]() Of course, when Steve M outruns you for half the money....hmmmmmmmmmm ![]() |

| No love... Go and do some homework.. you'll see what I mean. Yup the same pump as the DIY kit for 160.00, changes are braided teflon hoses(wonder why), a nozzle that really mists vs the NOS squirter, and a system that tracks off of boost pressure as it rises so your AFR's dont go into the toilet when the system fires. Less boost less alky..more boost more alky, overboost protection, lauch assist, runs of an OEM GM 3 bar MAP, uses a filter to catch any debris that my clog the nozzle, etc.. Hows this for a stat.. 80+ kits have been sold since August last year, zero failures have occurred to any part of the system. Zero pump issues, zero controller issues, zero lines issues, ZERO RETURNS.. The pressure guage mounted under the hood is only good when diagnosing a problem.. it serves no other purpose. Also is one more place for a leak to occur. Turns on at 3 psi boost(adj), ramps the pressure up to your hearts content(adj), and was designed using a GN in mind. Its kinda like the tranny parts.. the welded forward vs. the billet piece. Up until the billet pieces were made, there were no other choices. Once the billet pieces were made available, and better..it was just an economics question. My guys are squeezing the day lites out of theyre cars, counting on my stuff to really spray down the motors when they need it. For a stock GN a simple kit is fine. Turnon at 10-12 PSI, figure your amount at 20 PSI..kits like these work great. Up the pressure to 25+, loose converter, bigger turbo, IC , heads cam etc.. way different ball game. See alcohol injection can be a windshield washer pump with some fish tank hose spraying windshield washer fluid into your motor. See that setup is less than 25 and parts you can get at a junkyard. Would I entrust that to keep my motor together at 28 PSI..hell no. Where the difference boils down to, you wanna play.. you have to get stuff that works. Cheers.. Only complaint I get is you have to install it. Peace.. be happy with your choices.. you'll have to live with them. |

| Razor, Are you providing this info as the owner or employee of Alkycotrol.com who is a supplier/vendor or is it just your personal experience with the product?

| I believe Razor is the man. Stuff looks really nice. On the other hand, I have heads, cam, bigger turbo, etc and mine works great. Would it work better with a different controller? Could well be. I like the pressure gauge as it allows you to keep an eye on pump and nozzle performance. Strokes for different folks, I guess. ![]()
