Lots of Good info in this thread.

Just an FYI anyone that hasn't updated their SMC kit (I.E. Round Bottle) - do so, the new pump is way better.

Razors kit looks killer.....mmm meth

I've stepped up to dual nozzle and am hoping this stock turbo/injector car has a 11.9x or better in it.

Steve updated his pump - more pressure/volume. It's not 100% methanol compatible, but Razor has that covered if you choose to move that way.

info

Don't hold back, say what you think I need to know. I appreciate finding out something as important as this. I bought my SMC I think in 2001? Cost of the new pump?? Does Steve from SMC not post here as well??
I currently run denatured alcohol, is the new pump not compatible with that?? It has worked well for me. My 25# boost gauge was pegged with zero knock on alky but then again I ran 21# boost with pump gas and no alky and zero knock also.

Thanks alot,

Ravi

Ravi,
The new pump has allowed me to go from a 93 octance chip to a full 108 race chip. I have drop form 12.7's to 12.3's and went from 107mph - 111mph. Flat out this pump flows alot more alky. I run 100% denatured in mine.

The upgrade is $130ish - I think - call Steve to get an accurate quote.

Jeremy

FWIW, you can get extra flow by adding a nozzle. But the best way is figure how much consumption/pressure your using. And then see if adding volume makes your car faster.

Typically adding pressure or another nozzle accomplishes this. Tho too much pressure inhibits spoolup and can reduce performance.

The SMC pump typically at pump speed 10 should put out 75 PSI. This you can verify with a fuel pressure guage or the guage at the tank.

If it doesnt, then the pump or controller are having issues.

I'll leave this at that.
