Post Artie Paltz of Richs Auto gets his competition license today!!!! Congrats Artie

Hi All,

Just got back from Etown after a day of trophy marathon and while there we were trying to finish up the final two runs of one of our best customers Art Paltz.

Art has a S2 Duttweiller motor in his GN and it is a super looking car, looks like a stocker from the outside till you look inside and see the custom chrome moly cage and beast under the hood.

Anyway we took his car to Bristol in an attempt to get him his license and tried as we could with all our tweaking we just couldnt get her there. So we left Bristol with 4 of the 6 required runs.

Artie being the racer that he is tried a few times after Bristol at Etown and we were always just a tad away.....10.08....10.10...10.04 etc.

So we tweaked some more (lots of late nights the past few week or so at Richs Auto) so Art went down last wednesday to Etown and I guess the combination of our tweaking and cold track Art can mere inches (8 to be exact) to putting it into the wall after launch after running over some fluids. It was at that point I told Artie we have to detune her slightly as we didnt need to hurt the car nor himself and that we would try it again today at Etown.

Artie and I disagreed on how to best set up the car for his 1st run today......Art always wanting to go faster and not shutting down on runs wants to go all out. I calmly remind him of our adventures a mere few days earlier.......Art reclutantly says "Rich you're right again and I'll do whatever ya want". So we set it up for an easy 10 psi Tbrake launch.....car shorts 1.41 and goes 10.04@136 I think popping all the way (a little too rich but thats Ok). Art then comes back and says "What now Rich?" I tell him "now lets get your two 9's and to leave it to me". I adjust the idle a bit on his throttle cable and I say "Artie there are two 9's coming up now I guarantee it" He replies "Are ya sure Rich?" I give Art a reassuring wink and send him off.

Art launches the car and a 1.44 60' comes up on the board and I point to the car saying theres your 9 and BAMM 9.87@138.

Art comes back to the trailer and high 5's abound. With that Art says "Rich I will never doubt you again". I get a little teary eyed and send him right back out there for another 9. Obvioulsy we touch nothing on the car.

He goes out again and BAMM another 9.89@137. Artie is thrilled and now has his license. More high 5's and Art says "Rich your are the greatest idle control screw turner/tuner ever". I say "Art thank for the props but ya can't say best screw turner/tuner ever but I think I am pretty good in certain centralized counties here in New Jersey". Art agreed.

So congrats to Artie Paltz on getting his license and now he is good down to 7.50 and with a few more turns of the idle screw IMO he is there.

Art's the first Richs Auto customer to get his competition license and look for more of our customers to get their license's. In fact Tommy X is probably next as he was down there today with his Rosey T, can Roytos be far behind too?

See everyone tomorrow, stop by and say Hi to Artie and I.
