What are you working on? Dirtbike? Jetski? CVCC? They're not supposed to close all the way, hence the 'gap'. At least as far as I've known. You wouldn't close your spark gap right?
I'm working on a Honda CB450 motorcycle. The new points wouldn't close to specs.
