I know people who directly went into the building and they explained what they saw and heard. It is simple physics on this one. One piece(truss) broke which over loaded the other trusses. They couldn't hold the weight of the conrete from all those floors. Never trust a truss so they say.
However, I do very much believe they knew something was going to happen. Not exactly this but that something huge would occur. It is simply history repeating itself. We knew they would sink the Lusitania, and knew about the attack threats against pearl harbor. We wanted a reason for war, well we got it...
