I had the engine builder over today when I pulled the head off. I ran lifter bores and valve guides by him forgetting this was a virgin block when we started. He said the valve guides are new (which doesn't mean it isn't the problem) and that the the lifter bores were untouched. He checked them and said they shouldn't be an issue, not sure what the reading was. Says he'll fix it tonight. This guy is a great motor builder, best we've had in 12years of racing.
Then I attacked the problem with the Suburban fuel leak, found a line with a leak in it. I pulled the line off, took it to the parts store. $90.20 for a pair of new lines, and you can't get the feed line alone. Have to wait until tomorrow when the floks can buy it from somewhere with the employee disount. As soon as this truck is done I can get the cube van trans out.
My dad got a fresh(junkyard) trans for his S10, and a friend of his is going to swap them.
Now for my first meal of the day and some time searching for false knock on the GN. The simpler things in life.
When it comes to writing, I would say that my technical writing is far different from my speech. BSing with you clowns is a little closer, but probably less condescending and sarcastic than my actual speech.
