There were also a few other kids that could afford to buy a new car when they were seniors in HS and most of them worked with me down at the Burger King. I dont think I could afford to do that today. But looking back I can see where I spent at least 50% of my paycheck in car payments so I guess I could do it today if I moved back in and sponged off of mom. I got bored with the BlackKnight so I traded it in a year later on a dark red(carmine) Super Sport loaded down with every option. My dad even liked that truck so much that he bought a 2 tone blue Conquista that same day. If a part would bolt on to it than I did it. Rear sway bar and all of the neat aluminum goodies from a 78 Century Sport Wagon are some that I recall. The aluminum rear bumper reinforcement and radiator support. This was back in 79 so all you peeps who think you're on the leading edge with this stuff today, think again. My biggest disappointment was when I wanted to run the 79 in the Solo2 national championship back than. It wasn't legal. The rules say a maximum of 116 inch wheelbase and the ElCamino is 117". I think they were scared that I was almost as good as a 2nd gen F-body.

I've been trying to talk my wife into trading off the trusty Roadmaster for a ElCamino. She wont do it because of the White Trash stigmatism. Every Monday night I hear that every 5 minutes when My Name Is Earl on. The only thing I have to counter that remark with is ,Kevin Costner drove one in The Bodyguard. Anybody else know of a movie or TV show with a main character ElCamino?

I'll have to post some pics. I found a Diablo at the U-Pull-It and just yesterday they had a ChooChoo conversion sitting in the holding yard. It's a sorry POS and there aint much left to pick off of it when it does go out to into the yard.

here you go for my 8000th post to prove that I contribute nothing
