I looked in my '82-'83 GM Parts and illustration guide and I found they have a diagram with the trunk "Sport Coupe" badge on the LEFT of the "Buick" emblem. BOTH emblems are mounted on the right side of the trunk.

So if this represents your trunk: [..............................]
Then it should look like this: [..............."S.C." "Buick"]

Of course this was for the '82-'83 cars. I can't imagine it was too far off for the earlier models.
