Eric your in the business and so was I. I pulled a motor Saturday out of a 87 442 and only cost my friend lunch. That's not really the point. We all know many shops treat out trans like any other as Mike said. They have special calibrations in the valve body and governor. The D5 converter is also unique. But you know all this. When someone says $300 to rebuild our trans a red flag goes up. We all know the horror stories we real on all the boards from AAMCO and other unknown little shops. As for this posters problem. I was not being arrogant but telling the truth. As I said above the "red flag" of the $300 rebuild trumps all the possible suggestions of what may be wrong. If the governor was bad it did not get a new one. He did not take an hour to flush, rebuild the BRF valve body. It went in the tank and one from a taxicab went back in. Who knows what converter they used. I'm friends and local to CK Performance and Dynotech (Eric Schertz). I'm at there shops all the time and see what is done on budget rebuilds. Eric just rebuilt a T400 for me that I did myself a few years ago. He said he won't tell anyone what I fukked up.
