***Update on the Points Series***
I just conducted a couple of long distance phone interviews (from Florida) with some of our Points Series racers at today's event at ATCO...
Huber: "It was cold. The gates opened late at 9:00am, but cars were running now and there was a good turnout with LOTS of mustangs.
During practice Gregg (1970GSX) was running in the 10.70's. I went on the trailer after the first practice run. I blew another head gasket bad! The car lost traction on the launch and the boost zinged up!
They are calling the cars to the lanes again. I gotta go watch." Gregg: "Its a really nice day Here. High 40's with no wind.
It's good to not have Banning around. Rhumor has it that he got scared and ran to Florida. Yes, Huber blew a head gasket. Paulie is racing in the electonics class, so I can't take him out for you [i.e.: Banning]
I'll tell you what, there are lots of cars here." Wayne: "So far you couldn't have asked for a better day. The drive there was fine, except Jim & Bob Barnes got a ticket crossing the DE Memorial Bridge.
I'm racing the GN today. The blue car still has issues with the exhaust fitting.
No smack talking going on. The regulars are there and we know better.
I had McDonnalds for breakfast. The old Berlin Circle looks nice.
Eliminations should start at 1:00pm." Scojack: "Huber lifter another head gasket. Gregg ran a 10.70. Paulie is running in the 10's. Wayne ran a 13.3 on street tires. I think Avon ran a 9.35 or something like that.
There's lots of mustangs. That's about it. Everyone is in their 2nd time run right now, I don't think they will get a 3rd.
That's it, later!"
So, as of 11:50am there were several MAGNA members spectating and the following Points Series racers were there racing:
- Huber.
- Gregg.
- Avon.
- Paulie.
- Wayne.
- Tony.
- Mike.
- Nick.
Good luck guys. Post up pictures and stories when you all get back!
