Freddie,
Thanks for the drawing. I put the pump back together and just have to button up the valve covers in the AM and then we'll see what happens.
I'm not opposed to using the longer pieces and the plate, nor am I opposed to pulling the cover and doing the mod.
I just think that if I can get another 10k miles out of this thing before it kicks off without going through a lot of trouble, I will.
Besides, I already had the parts for the kit open and oily so it was too late.

I'm sure I'll be on the way to the parts store in the morning to get more stuff, but we'll see what happens.
